To hell with Jeannie......I Dream of Steele
Here are a few new eggs I've been tying for Steelhead. Estaz egg pattern tied with petit estaz material on a size 10 Daiichi X-point hook and 7/0 mono-cord thread to match....or in my case, whatever monocord thread I had kicking around (white). White McFlyfoam wing and either pearl or red krystal flash tails.

beauties! Question on the little tail, is there a reason for leaving those few long strands?
Lane, everything I've read suggests that the white wing and tail are supposed to imitate the garbage attached to the egg or egg sack after it has been deposited.
got it. that makes sense. I think you guys are going to have a good trip this weekend. I've heard very good reports.
